MERGE – A future where work and life merge together

We are looking for products, services, art works and projects with the theme, “A future where work and life merge together” for the YouFab 2018 Special Award, the “Lion Award”.

We are in the midst of an extraordinary shift. With technology rapidly changing with a momentum that exceeds our expectations, services have been created that can be used regardless of time and place. As a result, our way of working and living has also been changing rapidly. With developments in modern medicine leading to longer lives, it is expected that the traditional life stages that were drawn up in the 20th century, such as going through the education system, being employed by a company, retiring and reaching old age, will become increasingly diverse.

The relationship between companies and the individual, work and housework, between the self and learning and playing, public and private, digital and real are also merging. If we are to call this a society with no joints, where several different spheres of everyday life have become ambiguous, a “Merged” society, what kind of experiences will we seek and what kind of lives will we lead from now on?

For the YouFab 2018 Lion Award, together with the Lion Corporation, which has been backing “life” and providing several products and services to support healthy everyday lives, we are looking for products, services, art works and projects with the theme, “A future where ‘work’ and ‘life’ merge together”,

  • What kinds of experiences are created when work and life merge together?
  • How do relationships between people change when work and life merge together?
  • What kind of world would you like to see when work and life merge together?

The Lion Corporation, through collaborations with diverse creators, will continue to think about the image of those living in a “Merged” future, where work and life have merged together.
