都市空間のデザインは、女性の経験を考慮することはほとんどありません。女性デザイナーを刺激し、女性にとってより良い公共空間を作るためのReclaim Our Streetは、路上でのハラスメントの問題から派生したフェミニスト・ユートピア空間実践で、女性の都市生活の物語に対する基礎認識を構築し、都市デザインの議論において女性のニーズを最前線に置くことで女性をエンパワーことを目的としています。 ロンドン南部、地下鉄エレファント・アンド・キャッスル駅前で、20〜40歳の女性住民と、女性にとってより良い都市体験を生み出すことに情熱を注ぐ女性デザイナーを対象に、参加型のオープンエア展示会を開催する予定です。 路上でのハラスメントの体験談を女性に語ってもらうことでこの問題に関する物語を再生させます。集められたストーリーをもとに、変化を促すことを目的として将来作られる可能性のある複数の都市空間の提案をデザインすることで、都市の物語を再生するのです。女性の経験を重視した都市の公共空間が生まれ、より多くの女性が公共空間に現れ、都市生活を楽しむことができるようになれば、私たちは私たちの路上を取り戻すことができます。

Yinshuang (Alessia) Yu is a London based Spatial Designer who designs storytelling places. Illuminated by the study in multi-disciplinary collaborative programs in Central Saint Martins, the Narrative Environment, she explores the connection between humans and the environment through providing the space narrative. From interior to outdoor, from private to public, her works focus on creating and recreating the inspiring embodied experience in various spaces to stimulate audiences’ critical thinking. She believes the narrativity in spatial design can significantly impact individuals, communities, and society as a whole by constructing a better environment for human beings.
